School Building Expo will host the announcement of the 2008 AIA Committee on Architecture for Education Educational Facility Design Awards. This will be the first time the awards will be viewed publicly, and all of the winning entries will be on display. But much more than simply showing the winners, we'll feature a presentation by the expert panel of judges on what they found compelling about the entries they selected. You'll discover what the innovations were that made these projects stand above the rest. You'll see how they succeeded, in the eyes of our judges, in achieving educational facilities that facilitate education. This is a learning opportunity for you, and a recognition of what's among the best in our field today.
Visit some of the best new schools in Chicagoland as we tour several K-12, Higher Ed, and specialized facilities in and around the Chicago area. The first set of tours runs Tuesday after lunch, and Thursday afternoon we'll have another group of tours focused on colleges and universities. In many cases, you'll have as your guide the architects who created these buildings, so you can learn just how they accomplished the innovations in these buildings.
Have a question for one of the many expert presenters at School Building Expo? Sit down with them for a chat at the DesignShare Expert Bar, where you get one-on-one time with School Building Expo presenters. Relax in our comfy coffee bar lounge, right on the show floor, while you pose your individual questions and get personalized answers from the best minds in our field.
